Leiji Matsumoto

Leiji Matsumoto has been called the heir to Osamu Tezuka. His work is hugely influential in Anime and Manga and his work was some of the first anime to make it to North America. Personally, I love the way he draws those lumpy characters, especially in his Space Operas. They add a very human warmth to what can be a pretty anti-septic genre.

I've mentioned before how Matsumoto's work's influenced you, I'm sure.

Definitely. His drawings are fun to look at, which is something I always try to do as well.

I have a World War II story of his somewhere which is really great. I'll have to dig it up.
