I'm way behind in storyboarding and I'm leaving for a convention in San Francisco Friday morning. I just finished reading The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck though, so I had no choice. I'll colour the background later...
WICKED! I read the Life & Times a while ago, it's SOOOOOOO fucking good. I was never a big Don Rosa fan, at least not compared to Carl Barks, but he more than proved himself to me with that story. Epic, detailed and engrossing. I love Scrooge McDuck!

Scrooge is awesome. I like how you can root for him and simultaneously dislike him.
He's a self-made Duck, but also a skinflint and a shameless opportunist. Actually I think he's a bit more stridently capitalist in Don Rosa's hands than with Carl Barks. I seem to remember that Barks usually made Scrooge pay for his greed.
Or maybe I'm just applying politics to innocent cartoon characters because of election fever.
Y'know... The thing with Scrooge McDuck... Do you wonder if maybe Carl Barks, at one time... wanted to make him Jewish? Instead of a top hat and sideburns, he's got a vest and those little curls Orthodox Jews have?
"Donald, you're farbloget if you think I'm goin' on yet another adventure with you and those goniff nephews of yours! I gotta big shipment of gabardine coming into Duckburg I have to shift! What? How much Inca gold, exactly? Boychik, you just got yourself a partner! Oy!"

...and am I going to Hell for writing this?
Tom.
Uncle Herschel Duckstein?
I think Walt Disney would have put the kybosh on that, since he was a big 'ol anti-Semite.
I'm going to hell for supporting Barack Obama, at least according to the Religious Right.
We'll hang out.
